IT'S SO EASY MR BONAPARTE

 IT'S SO EASY, MR BONAPARTE

Little corporal, had just received the grandest welcome which the streets of Paris had ever seen. He had just conquered the continental Europe. All the glory was waiting for him. The people of France were just glorified with the restored pride of their country. People cheered all along the way till the palace and the decorations enlightened the entire city.

Europe was at peace. At last, there were no wars. People were happy, but it was all so lame for the little corporal. He was now confined to those petty affairs of the court rather than the rage of the battlefield. He missed the action of the war. The very thing that would define his legacy did not exist anymore for him. Even in the palace, he would find any opportunity to fulfil his thirst for action. None of his soldiers brought petty criminal matters of small robberies to him and he was totally annoyed with the fact. Finally, one day, when he was walking in the palace, he heard some ruckus happening. He grabbed the opportunity and rushed in his royal clothes to check what was the matter. Guards looked at him and one of the captains updated him about the matter at his orders.

It so had happened, that there was some intruder who had breached the walls and was now in the royal kitchen. All the guards entered the kitchen to catch the invader, but to their dismay, the invader rushed passed all the guards. On the other side, his advisers were calming the little corporal. Not listening to anyone he walked in his royal clothes which even though the clothes restricted his movements did not restrict his urge to action. The invader who was escaping the guards was caught . Upon a clear view, the invader was a small boy, not more than 12 years of age in tattered clothes and a seemingly weak body but with the agility of an eagle. The little boy was now surrounded by the guards. Upon asking the reason to enter the palace, the boy replied

"I wanted to taste the food that is cooked in the palace."

The guards looked at him and did not know how to react. Suddenly the boy started running, but his stint could not last long as he was trapped in the royal robes when he rushed outside the kitchen. The boy looked up and was in a state of shock. The boy said

"Hello Mr Bonaparte, how are you doing ?"

Napoleon was stunned by this question, as he did not expect this. Napoleon looked at the boy's innocence and considered that he was a kid. Napoleon answered

"I am doing fine"

The boy replied
"It's so easy Mr Bonaparte"

Napoleon looked baffled and asked

"What?"

The boy replied

"This life, the way you live, in this castle in the middle of Paris and being the most powerful of Europe."

Napoleon smiled and ordered his troops

"Leave this boy here and find his parents."

All the soldiers left and left Napoleon alone with the boy. After all had left, Napoleon asked the boy

"What have you heard about me".

Asking this, Napoleon started moving ahead. The boy answered while trying to catch up

"That you are France's greatest liberator, you are a revolutionary."

"But why are we running?"

Napoleon answered

"You wanted to eat, right?"

Napoleon further answered

"You are right that life is easy. Actually not just for me but for everyone."

The boy replied

"Not for me, I suppose. I am not able to make enough money. I am sometimes not able to decide what I want to do in my life. Many times I try but I don't achieve what I aspire for."

Napoleon replied

"You know, I am the one who defeated Russians on their high peaks, I am the one who sent the Austrians running back to Vienna and I am the one because of whom the British won't set foot on Europe. Do you think all this was easy?"

The boy replied

"No, exactly this is what I am saying."

Napoleon further asked

"Why, does almost everyone living in Europe know my name?"

The boy replied

" Because you conquered Europe and won so many battles."

Napoleon replied

"Yes, but none of this was easy, Yet I am telling that life is easy."

The boy replied

"Yes, that is my question, why?"

Napoleon replied

"Life is easy if you follow the line. If I was like my predecessors then my life would have been just eating cakes. Like you are eating. Life is not easy when you break out. When you aspire. I took on those battles myself. That made my life hard. Similarly, you are fighting the battles of your aspiration, which you took on, due to this life tends to become difficult."

The boy replied

"But, what is life without ambition?"

Napoleon replied

"It's like, there will be countless kings in the history of the world. But those who aspire people and set out towards their ambition are remembered the most."

The boy replied

"Napoleon Bonaparte, I believe will be written in the first line."

Napoleon replied

"Future is ambiguous, I do not know how my reign will be designated or how much influence my name would have in the world. Surely someday, this world would remember me."
